NOW THE CHANGES
Music for the moment; music for the movement. East Bay activist rock band Now the Changes combine post-punk dynamism with epic textures and strategic experimentalism. Their songs juxtapose the vulnerability of confession with the ferocity of defiance. What's at stake? Sanity, clarity, wisdom, hope; the needed transformation.
Inspired by the driving power of punk and indie rock, as well as the riffs of classic rock, music of East Bay garage rock band Veins (Michael Bang and Jeff Mark) catapults you into places both familiar and unusual. They released their debut self titled album in April of 2016, and the song “Bipolar by Nature” was described as a “raucous jam” by someone in the band Dad Jokes. Influences can heard from The White Stripes, The Yeah Yeah Yeahs, and Ty Segall, and while you’re never quite sure where their music is going to go, it always goes somewhere awesome.
THE TET HOLIDAY
The Tet Holiday is the Oakland, CA project of singer/songwriter Andrew Ledford, accompanied by Austin Gibbons (bass) and Brandon Farmer (drums). Swirling the Jesus and Mary Chain's noise-pop melodicism, Ride's shimmering dreamscapes, and Japandroids' pack-the-room punk energy with a healthy dose of loud-quiet-LOUD, The Tet Holiday balances bittersweet introspection with anthemic, crushing rock 'n' roll.
About the bands:
Killer Kaya Bio:
Killer Kaya is a six piece psychedelic and funk outfit based out of Santa Barbara, California. Named after a rather large house cat, Killer Kaya has a 60’s era psychedelic sound with funk and soul elements and is composed of Apoorva Chiplunkar on vocals, Zach Rengert on guitar/drums, Eric Engel on drums/guitar, Alex Pavellas on bass, Cory Lund on trumpet and keys, and Josh Sheltzer on saxophone. The lovechild of scientists and hippies, Killer Kaya is reminiscent of the days where flower children roamed free and incense swirled about in whimsical billows. Sun soaked melodic threads run through Killer Kaya’s rainbow prism of sound, evocative of bands like Janis Joplin and Big Brother and The Holding Company and Jefferson Airplane.
Killer Kaya released their first EP titled Cigarette Echolocation in 2015 and their first full length album, 29 Lives in August 2017. Having played throughout the Central Coast, Bay Area, and Los Angeles, Killer Kaya has also played with notable musicians like funk legend Shuggie Otis. Having made their festival debut at Starry Nites Festival alongside acts like The Kills, The Dandy Warhols, Cat Power, and Teenage Fanclub this past March, Killer Kaya also performed at the 2017 Santa Barbara Earth Day Festival. They recently finished a Bay Area tour with SF based rockers Gabby Lala & Snow Angel and will be recording new material in early 2018 as well as playing dates throughout the Southern & Northern California areas.

My Dallas Teens:
My Dallas Teens draw upon many musical styles. From the quintessential roots of rock and roll. To the garage & paisley San Francisco sounds of 60’s, with the sonic mayhem of feedback from the 90’s. As well as from many of the current bands tearing up the underground.
Meet the Teens!
Lead by songwriter & lead vocalist Eric McInnis on 12 string guitar (previously of Oakland's Fauna Valetta) and backed by musicians of a quantum caliber: Jamison Simmons (drums), Alex Scribner (bass), Marina Sanford (keys). The Teens network a live "wall" of sound with the essence of a modern nostalgia for the inescapable yet intangible past. And they look good doing it too!
My Dallas Teens have been fortunate enough to share stages with amazing acts such as:
The Allan Parsons Project, The Kills, Strawberry Alarm Clock, Cat Power, Sky Parade, The Astroid #4, Spindrift, and many other incredible acts.
-Amidst a steady string of live performances MDT has also just finished their debut double-LP "GRADUATION" recorded by Tommy Dietrick (bandleader of Sky Parade and formerly of The Brian Jonestown Massacre) at Skylab Studios in Joshua Tree, CA.
-From the beautiful mountains to the vast deserts, holding fondly to a musical structure of times past and harmonies of the future—what once was thought to be lost in the shrouds of time, My Dallas Teens are here to incarnate the music we all love while perpetuating just that... LOVE!!!
BLOW is a Glam rock psychedelic explosion that is guaranteed to blow your mind to another dimension. From their surrealist blurring riff bending to their snazzy garb your eyes and ears will take you to another world!
Marmalade Knives is a heavy psych quartet from the Santa Cruz mountains. Our collective love of krautrock, hard rock, and psychedelia brought us together in the fall of 2017 and we've been sharpening our ornamental edges to spread the jam ever since...
Kid Mystic is a pop psych rock dream that grew from the seeds of James Tuttle's solo freak folk project. After a couple years of living in a van and traveling James settled in the Bay and met his band and the rest of the story is yet to be made.

Benjamin Bennett has worked as an improvising percussionist for 10 years, touring North America and Europe as a soloist, in various ensembles, and ad-hoc collaborations. He developed a unique approach to percussion which took the lineage of free-jazz, free-improvisation, Berlin reductionism, and extended technique playing as its foundation. In searching for an expanded sonic palette, and more fluid movement between various techniques, he distilled the drumset into a small collection of drumheads, stretched membranes, and other objects which offered a wide variety of unconventional sounds from very few materials, which could be rearranged into different combinations during a performance. This aesthetic development also translated to a practical advantage, in that this setup was small enough to fit into a backpack, freeing him from using a car to transport heavy percussion gear. He began touring by bus and bicycle, even completing a 7-day, 7-show bicycle tour through New England.

Come join us in sacred community to celebrate the Autumnal Equinox! The Fall “celebrates the second harvest and the start of winter preparations. It is the time to respect the impending dark while giving thanks to the sunlight.” We will set our intentions through the magic of the Tarot, do a honoring ritual, call in the seven directions, perform an invocation and a releasing ritual. **We will be having a fire so if you have a sensitivity to smoke please note these will be the conditions of the ritual.
Some ideas to heighten the experience,
*Bring an offering for the alter a crystal, stone, feather, poem, confession, a flower, a herb or whatever your heart desires. Know you can take these items home after.
*Dress in something devotional if that feels right for you.
*Write down a passage or confession that you'd like to offer to the ritual and ceremony.
What is the Autumnal Equinox?
The autumnal equinox happens the moment the sun crosses the celestial equator, which is an imaginary line in the sky that corresponds to Earth’s equator.
“Equinox” comes from the Latin words “equi” meaning “equal” and “nox” meaning “night.” This implies that there will be equal amounts of daylight and darkness, however such is not exactly the case.
There are two equinoxes annually, vernal and autumnal, marking the beginning of spring and fall. They are opposite for the northern and southern hemispheres.
In China the September equinox is celebrated during the Mid-Autumn Festival, also known as the Moon Festival. The bounty of summer’s harvest is celebrated and the festivities are rampant with moon cakes, round pastries made from bean paste and other sweet and/or savory ingredients.
Laura Zuspan is an artist and seer. Magic and art are her guiding forces; what most interests her in these realms are transformations in consciousness. Her artistic and intuitive practice is to facilitate collaborative healing ceremonies, ritual awakenings, and the development of inner vision to feed and inspire the spirit. She has studied Buddhism at Insight Meditation Center, Green Gulch Farm Zen Center, Wat Phra That Doi Suthep in Thailand and trained at the Niroga Institute in yoga outreach. Influenced by the work of Joanna Macy, Linda Montano, Angeles Arrien and Dipa Ma, Laura is interested in shifting the way we understand ‘Tarot’ into a functional and ethical tool for individual insight and empowerment. Laura recently opened a private reading room to see clients privately located in central Oakland. She is currently creating her own tarot deck through watercolor painting.

Jordan likes to play sweet songs about things that he sees, people he meets, and stuff that's messing with his mind. Sometimes they go walking in the park, sometimes swimming, sometimes dangling in outerspace on a jungle vine! He plays a guitar and sings, mostly.
CMB (Cosmic Microwave Background) was born from an improv synth set at a music festival. CMB's new EP Three Licks is heavily electronic. Unlike Casey's previous projects, it's much more experimental.
"In this workshop I'll guide participants thru active exploration of the relationship to & communication with parts of our selves existing across time; utilizing a combination of creative therapy, hypnotherapy, transpersonal psychotherapy, & imaginal conjuring methods.
Beyond our current perceived ages, our psyche is in fact comprised of a very nonlinear complex of perinatal, infant, child, adolescent, adult, & elder psychology, developed at varying stages along our lifetimes. We also carry projected images of our future selves. Our subconscious mind provides a timeless access to these many facets of inner worlds.
I'll share some of the fascinating psychological research done on this topic, more ancient practices of inner journeying, then lead us thru several exercises where we will revisit & communicate withyounger versions of ourself that may hold important information for your present, or may need assistance with healing to enable integration with your current sense of self. We will also experiment with envisioning & contacting our future elder selves, opening to their guidance in the forms of wisdom or foresight that may be useful "North Stars" down our paths." ~Amadia Shadow Rabbit
