NOW THE CHANGES
Music for the moment; music for the movement. East Bay activist rock band Now the Changes combine post-punk dynamism with epic textures and strategic experimentalism. Their songs juxtapose the vulnerability of confession with the ferocity of defiance. What's at stake? Sanity, clarity, wisdom, hope; the needed transformation.
Inspired by the driving power of punk and indie rock, as well as the riffs of classic rock, music of East Bay garage rock band Veins (Michael Bang and Jeff Mark) catapults you into places both familiar and unusual. They released their debut self titled album in April of 2016, and the song “Bipolar by Nature” was described as a “raucous jam” by someone in the band Dad Jokes. Influences can heard from The White Stripes, The Yeah Yeah Yeahs, and Ty Segall, and while you’re never quite sure where their music is going to go, it always goes somewhere awesome.
THE TET HOLIDAY
The Tet Holiday is the Oakland, CA project of singer/songwriter Andrew Ledford, accompanied by Austin Gibbons (bass) and Brandon Farmer (drums). Swirling the Jesus and Mary Chain's noise-pop melodicism, Ride's shimmering dreamscapes, and Japandroids' pack-the-room punk energy with a healthy dose of loud-quiet-LOUD, The Tet Holiday balances bittersweet introspection with anthemic, crushing rock 'n' roll.
